New Beginning to Belonging - 2022 International Hanwang Forum

September 7 to 11, the 2022 International Hanwang Forum (IHF), co-hosted by the Beijing International Exchange Association Sustainable Development Committee (SDC) and the International Science Exchange Foundation of China (ISEFC), was successfully held online. Around 100 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and representatives of eco-projects from mainland China, Hong Kong,Taiwan, the UK, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Kenya and St. Maarten spoke at the forum.

As a tribute to the first Hanwang Forum took place 10 years ago, the 2022 International Hanwang Forum took “Belonging” as its keyword, and set 5 sub-forums themed on “Love Recovery”, “One Health”, “Culture Feast”, “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” and “Eco-Civilization”. The five themes “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and “Ecological Civilization”, which enabled conversations among people from different backgrounds and action-oriented discussion happen.

Ms. Chen Xi, Chairwoman of ISEFC, Mr. Zeng Fang, Vice Chairman of China Siyuan Foundation, Mr. Zhang Yanqi, Chairman of Beijing International Exchange Association, Mr. Liu Wei, SDC Chairman, and Ms. Kathy Tse, SDC Vice-chair and Director of Shifangyuan Foundation, delivered opening speeches at different sub-forums. Mr. Wei Zhiyuan, SDC Honorary Chairman, Ye Qing, Chairwoman of Shenzhen Institute of Building (IBR), and Yang Liming, former Chairman of China Health & Medical Development Foundation, sent their congratulations to the forum in forms of letters and videos.

The five-day event set up a variety of activities such as keynote speeches, round-table dialogues, video sharing, online meditation and project release, etc. At the closing ceremony on September 11, Christopher Chuang, SDC Honorary Chairman, called on the participants with the message “Faith makes the world a better place”, encouraging everybody to take actions on creating a better world for us and everyone.

Except for speakers attended online, the forum also set up branch venues in Beijing, Chengdu, Kunshan, Xi'an, Taipei and Yunlin, and more than 10,000 people watched the live broadcast of the event online.
