General Introduction

Since the year 2000, the Committee's founders had been focusing on all aspects of global sustainable development and in April 2005, the Committee organized the first International Forum on Sustainable Development at Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

In order to ensure continuity of the Forum's spirit and themes, a subsidiary organization - Sustainable Development Committee was registered in October 2005 under Beijing International Exchange Association with the approval from Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau in accordance with the statutes of the People's Republic of China and, resulting in the conversion of the Forum's organizing committee into a permanent organization.

Since the establishment of the Committee, together we have organized numerous international forums and have received both domestic and international recognition. Among them, Hanwang Forum has exerted expanding influence overseas.

Our proposed topics for discussion on disaster prevention, disaster relief and sustainable development the main topics as well as “Hanwang 7+1” practice have received enthusiastic applauses from local and international institutions. Hanwang Forum was listed a Strategic Cooperation Project of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union. It also became as a specialised official forum Western China International Fair (WCIF) in 2014.

In the same year, Hanwang Forum went abroad and held Health for Humanity Conference in Scotland.
