To most people in China, time seemed to standstill in this February. The roads used to be busy were empty and bustling shops and restaurants were closed. To the medical workers who have been fighting at the frontline of the anti-virus battle, however, every minute counts.
Because of severity of anti-virus situation in Wuhan, supply of medical equipment were always in short, which increased the risk of exposing medical workers who worked at the frontline in the highly contagious virus. Their health and safety were concerns of 1.4 billion Chinese people.
Since outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Beijing International Exchange Association Sustainable Development Committee (BJ-SDC) has paid close attention to medical workers at the frontline and hoped to unite our resources to support them.
Under the coordination of our Executive Vice Chair Zhu Lei, BJ-SDC purchased 2400 medical goggles from a qualified Class I medical devices manufacturer in Ningbo. 2000 of them were donated to Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University (Leishenshan Hospital) and 400 of them were donated to Liyuan Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
